HP says that they do not provide XP drivers for a downgrade on machines that come already pre-installed with Windows Vista. Needless to say, after reinstalling Windows XP, I could not find the correct drivers, supposedly (per HP website) when Laptops come with Windows Vista pre-installed, a downgrade should not be attempted because the hardware installed in the machine is configured to work only with Vista and installing any other driver will make the system unstable and in some cases will not work at all. It came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Basic, since she does not have the Vista Disc the only option is to downgrade to XP or get another Vista disc to reinstall.
I have a Laptop Compaq Presario C500, unfortunately the person that owns the machine lost the recovery disk/s that usually come with the machine.
